1. Age Limits
The age limits for different races are listed below:

The Hong Kong, China Association of Athletics Affiliates Limited (“the Organiser” or HKAAA) has the right to verify and request for verification of the age of participants before, during and after the Event.
Priority Entry is only applicable to the 10km race.
Applicants of this category must meet the following corresponding time standards (Net Time) achieved in any recognised races organised or sanctioned by the Organiser or World Athletics (WA) or Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.

Applicants must submit proof confirming the results (for non-HKAAA Races) of the above to the Organiser at the time when they submit their application. Entry will only be confirmed after relevant proofs have been verified by the Organiser.
Applicants registered through the Priority Entry can only enter the 10km Challenge Race. In case applicants wish to enter a non-Challenge race, they should apply for such a race via Public Ballot.
Applicants failing to provide results at the time of application will be treated as incomplete application and such application will no longer be processed. The Organiser reserves the right to verify the submitted proof, disqualify, and take disciplinary action against applicants who submit false, untrue or invalid information.
If the number of eligible entries exceeds the quota limit after registration closes, the Organiser will determine the acceptance list based on the male-to-female ratio of applicants and by ranking the submitted qualifying results, with priority given to those with better performances. Results of the “Priority Entry” will be notified by email to all applicants from 10:00am on 22 September 2024 Sunday. Runners can also log in to the registration system to check their application status from the respective date.
Unsuccessful applicants can consider submitting another entry during the registration period for the Public Ballot to participate in non-Challenge Race.
The Organiser also reserves the right to contact and interview applicants by phone or through other means in order to obtain additional information required to substantiate their application.
3. Acceptance of Entries (Women’s Elite)
Women’s Elite is only applicable to the 10km race.
Applicants of this category must have finished a recognised 10km race, organised or sanctioned by the Organiser or World Athletics (WA) or Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS) in under 40:00 (Net Time) between 1 January 2023 and 31 July 2024.
The races recognised by the Organiser for the Women’s Elite are identical to those for Priority Entry.
Applicants must submit proof confirming the results (for non-HKAAA Races) of the above to the Organiser at the time when they submit their application. Entry will only be confirmed after relevant proofs have been verified by the Organiser.
Applicants registered through the Women’s Elite can only enter the Women’s Elite Race. In case applicants wish to enter 10km Challenge or the non-Challenge race, they should apply via “Priority Entry” or “Public Ballot” respectively.
Applicants failing to provide results at the time of application will be treated as incomplete application and such application will no longer be processed. The Organiser reserves the right to verify the submitted proof, disqualify, and take disciplinary action against applicants who submit false, untrue or invalid information.
If the number of eligible entries exceeds the quota limit after registration closes, the Organiser will determine the acceptance by ranking the submitted qualifying results, with priority given to those with better performances. Results of the Women’s Elite will be notified by emails to all applicants from 10am on 27 September 2024, Friday. Applicants can also log in to the registration system to check their application status from the respective date.
The Organiser also reserves the right to contact and interview applicants by phone or through other means in order to obtain additional information required to substantiate their application.
4. Acceptance of Entries (Priority Entry for “Standard Chartered ’98 New Airport Marathon” Runners)
Priority Entry for “Standard Chartered ’98 New Airport Marathon” Runners is only applicable for 10km Run 1.
Applicants of this category must submit proof of their participation in the “Standard Chartered ‘98 New Airport Marathon” during registration.
The entry will only be confirmed after verification.
Applicants registered through this entry can only enter the 10km Run 1. In case applicants wish to enter 10km Challenge or other non-Challenge race, they should apply via “Priority Entry” or “Public Ballot” respectively.
Applicants failing to provide proof at the time of application will be treated as incomplete application and such application will no longer be processed. The Organiser reserves the right to verify the submitted proof, disqualify, and take disciplinary action against applicants who submit false, untrue or invalid information.
If the number of eligible applications exceeds the quota limit, the Organiser reserves the right to conduct a ballot for the selection of successful applicants. Results of the this entry will be notified by emails to all applicants from 10am on 1 October 2024, Tuesday. Applicants can also log in to the registration system to check their application status from the respective date.
The Organiser also reserves the right to contact and interview applicants by phone or through other means in order to obtain additional information required to substantiate their application.
5. Acceptance of Entries (Public Ballot)
All Public Ballot Entries will be determined by drawing lots.
Results of the first-round balloting will be available at 10am on 1 October 2024, Tuesday. Notification will be sent to applicants by email. Applicants may also log in onto the Runner Dashboard to check their entry status thereafter.
Results of the second-round balloting will be available at 10am on 6 October 2024, Sunday. Notification will be sent to applicants on the waiting list from the first-round of balloting by email. Applicants may also log in onto the registration system to check their latest entry status thereafter.
No enquirers, whether by phone, email or in writing, of entry status will be entertained before the announcement of the balloting results.
Applicants must ensure that their designated email is correct, valid, can receive notification from the Organiser and will continue to be in use. The Organiser accepts no responsibility for applicants’ failure to receive email notifications by reason of invalid or incorrect email addresses.
Assignment of race category and start time in which participants shall compete shall be made by the Organiser at its sole discretion. In order to assist the Organiser in making such an assignment, estimated finishing time should be provided by applicants at the time when they submit their application. No requests for a change of race distance, race category or start time will be entertained by the Organiser.
The Organiser reserves the right to take disciplinary action and disqualify participants who fail to start in their designated race distance, race category or start time.
6. Wheelchair Race
The entries for Wheelchair Race is on a first-come, first-served basis. Once the race quota is full, the Organiser reserves the right to close entries before the deadline without notice.
Application results of the Wheelchair Race will be notified to all applicants by email.
6.1 Entry Requirement
Applicants for Wheelchair Race must submit medical certificates issued by a medical practitioner or appointed government agency to prove their relevant physical disability at the time of submitting their application. Applicants failing to do so before the registration closes will be considered as forfeiting the submission and their application will be withdrawn without further notice.
6.2 Wheelchair Condition
Wheelchairs to be used by participants of the Wheelchair Race must meet the official requirements and regulations set by the Organiser. Inspection of participants’ wheelchairs shall be made prior to the race on the Race Day. If a wheelchair fails to comply with the requirements and regulations, the participant will not be allowed to start the race and his / her entry will be disqualified with no refund of the entry fee.
It is the sole responsibility of Wheelchair Race participants to ensure their wheelchair is of such necessary quality and in good condition to participate in the race. Wheelchair Race participants agree to indemnify the Organiser and hold the Organiser indemnified and harmless for any injury and death caused to themselves or other persons and to all damage to properties caused by the improper use of the wheelchairs or the defective quality or condition of their wheelchair.
7. Security Arrangement
7.1 Registration
Applicants must register with personal particulars that are identical to those shown on their identification document (HKID Card or Travel Document) with which they choose to register their application. Relevant personal particulars of all accepted applicants will be transferred to the Airport Authority and Aviation Security Company Limited for the purpose of application for Special Visitor Pass (SVP) and for security checking and all participants shall consent to such transfer. Applicants whose application for SVP shall fail for whatever reason shall not be allowed to participate in the Event. Refund of entry fee will be made (an administration charge of HKD 100 will be deducted from each refund) by the Organiser.
7.2 Runner’s Packs Collection
Participants must collect their bibs & Runner’s Packs in person, collection by proxy will not be accepted. At the time when they collect such Runner’s Pack, they must present their original identification document with which they used to register their application and their personal particulars on such identification document must be identical to those printed on the Number Bibs. Participants who fail to present such original identification document or whose particulars are in any way different from those printed on the Number Bibs will not be permitted to participate in the Event.
7.3 Race Day
Participants must bring the original HKID card or Travel Document (same document as used in the event registration) to the Assembly Venue- AsiaWorld-Expo. If a participant cannot present any of the below items, he / she will not be allowed to participate in the event, and entry fee will not be refunded.
Participants must arrive the assembly venue within the designated time period of each group. Latecomers will not be allowed to enter the assembly venue and thus participate in the race, no refund of entry fee with such violation.
Participants must start at the designated race category and start time. Otherwise they will not be allowed to participate in the race and will be disqualified.
Entries, Number Bibs and Timing Chips are all non-transferable. If the Organiser discovers any imposter with another person’s Number Bibs, both the imposter and the person issued with the Number Bib shall be disqualified to participate in the race. The Organiser further reserves the right to forbid and prohibit such persons from participating in future races, competitions and events organised by the Organiser.
Participants must wear their Number Bibs until their race is completed and they return to the assembly venue. Participants who are found to have removed their Number Bib without valid reasons or not under the direction of the officials will be disqualified.
Participants must follow instructions given by the Organiser and the race officials and the Organiser has the right to disqualify such non-conforming participants and prohibit them from taking part or further part in the race.
8. Entry Fee
The entry fees of each race category are listed below:

(a) Local Participant – A holder of a valid Hong Kong Identity Card who registers his / her application using such Hong Kong Identity Card, and possesses a local mobile phone number.
(b) Non-Local Participant – Any person who does not qualify as a Local Participant.
It is the sole responsibility of the applicants to ensure that payment of the entry fee is made through the official payment channel designated by the Organiser before the payment deadline. Applicants failing to do so before the payment deadline will be considered as forfeiting the submission and their application will be withdrawn without further notice. No reminder for payment will be made to applicants. No request for extension of time for payment or change of payment method will be entertained. Entry fee, once submitted, is non-reversible and non-refundable. No application shall be considered as completed until the appropriate entry fee has been received by the Organiser.
Applicants can only withdraw and request for refund due to medical reasons. Such request for refund must be made in writing (via email to [email protected]) on or before 16 November 2024 (Saturday) to Registration and Runners’ Communication Office, along with relevant medical documents issued by a medical practitioner (registered with The Medical Council of Hong Kong or Overseas Governmental medical authorities). An administration charge of HKD 100 will be deducted from each refund.
9. Duplicate Entries
Each applicant can only submit one application for the races of the Event unless he / she is an unsuccessful applicant for the Priority Entry or Women’s Elite, in which case, he / she can submit one further application for the Public Ballot. In case of violations, duplicate applications or registrations will be rejected or cancelled by the Organiser without prior notice. No entry fee will be refunded and redemption/collection of the Runner’s Pack will not be entertained.
10. Terms & Conditions and Official Rules
Upon submitting his / her application and payment of the entry fee, an applicant declares that he / she agrees to and accept these Terms & Conditions, the Official Competition Rules and all other rules and regulations which may be adopted by the Organiser from time to time. In the event that the applicant is a minor, such declaration, agreement and acceptance shall be made by the parent or legal guardian of the minor for and on behalf of the minor.
11. Physical Conditions
Participants should be aware of and understand the risks involved in taking part in the Event, and acknowledge the degree of fitness required to take part therein.
Any person who is pregnant or suffering from any chronic disease such as heart disease or high blood pressure should not participate in the Event. The Organiser reserves the right to disallow / disqualify any person who is known to have the above condition. The Organiser, at its sole discretion, also has the right to suspend any participant who appears or is suspected to be physically unfit to participate in the Event.
All participants are urged to seek medical advice of their physical condition before participating in the Event. All participants are required to submit a “Health Conditions Form and Recommendations for Runners” declaring for the compliance of the associated health requirement when he / she submits his / her application in the Event. By submitting his / her application to take part in the Event, and subsequently taking part in the Event, a participant
a. warrants and confirms to the Organiser that the participant is physically fit to participate in and complete his / her race without any medical or other assistance; and
b. agrees to indemnify and hold harmless the Organiser from
i. any injury or death suffered by the participant or any other persons; and
ii. any damage to property as a result of the participant not being physically fit to participate in and complete the race.
All participants must read and complete the “Health Conditions Form and Recommendations for Runners” before the registration and the race. Participants should also understand there might be a chance that their physical conditions may not be suitable for participating in the race. All participants who have answered a “Yes” to any of the questions on the “Health Conditions Form and Recommendations for Runners” are strongly recommended to consult for medical advice by phone or in person. Such participants should only join the race if their doctor advises that their physical condition is fit to participate without risks.
For participants who are minor, their parents or legal guardians shall also have the responsibility to ensure that the minor participant complies with the terms and conditions of this Rule 9 and the warranty, confirmation, agreement and indemnity in this Rule 9 shall also be given by such parents and legal guardians to the Organiser.
12. Runner’s Pack Collection
Participants should collect their Runner’s Pack according to the specified date and time. Should any participants fail to do so, the Organiser reserves the right to revoke participants’ right to collect the Runner’s Pack (including Number Bibs) without prior notice.
13. Route Alteration
The Organiser reserves the right to change or alter any parts of the running route before and during the race without prior notice in the event of unexpected weather conditions, road conditions or emergency. A race may be temporarily suspended for emergency or any other incidents during the race. In the event of emergency or any incident, participants must follow the instructions of race officials or any law enforcement officers on site. No part of the entry fee shall be refundable to participants by reason of any change of or alteration to the running routes.
14. Instructions Given by Race Officials
Instructions given by the Organiser and race officials must be followed with respect to all matters not provided herein. The Organiser reserves the right to reject applications of a participant who has refused to follow instructions of the race officials for all future races organised by the Organiser.
15. General Rules
World Athletics (WA) Competition Rules & Technical Rules will be applied at the Event.
Race Officials reserve the right to ask a participant to leave the race course immediately, in case he / she is found using any external auxiliary equipment during the race, except for prosthetic limb(s).
Participation in the Event is personal to the participant and all participants are strictly prohibited from swapping, selling, auctioning, transferring or offering to swap, sell, auction or transfer their successful entry or their place in the Event or allow or permit any other person to wear their Number Bibs allocated to them. Any breach of this rule shall render the entry void and both the guilty applicant and the substituted participant shall be subject to disciplinary action by the Organiser including exclusion from participation in future races organised by the Organiser.
16. Results
Official Times and Net Times will be provided to participants who have completed in the designated races within the specified time limit with valid Number Bibs. Split Times may be provided and if so, they are for reference only. For Wheelchair Race participants, only Official Times will be provided.
17. Age Categories (Only applicable for Challenge Races)
If the number of entries of a particular age group is less than 10, the participants of that age group will combine with the younger age group.
18. Disqualification
The Organiser reserves the right to disqualify any person from and nullify his / her result of the Event and further to forbid and prohibit such person from participating in future races, competitions and events organissed by the Organiser if a participant is found to have violated, breached or failed to perform any Laws or Regulations of Hong Kong, National Security Laws applicable to Hong Kong, World Athletics (WA) Competition Rules or the Official Competition and House Rules set for the Event. The Organiser shall not be obliged to refund any entry fee under any of such circumstances
19. Awards, Finisher Medals and Certificates
Only participants of the 10km Challenge and 5km races will be entitled to compete for awards. Official Times will be used to determine the positions of each race.
Finisher Medals and Certificates of Achievement will be issued to participants with Official Times in all races and categories.
Participants failing to start the race in the designated start time, in the assigned race category, or failing to complete the race (including participants boarding the Official Bus), shall not be entitled to any awards, Certificate of Achievement or finisher medals.
20. Event Cancellation
Should the Event be cancelled due to weather, lightning or other circumstances beyond the control of the Organiser or in the case of a Force Majeure resulting in the Event being cancelled within 14 days before the scheduled date of the Event (i.e. 4 November 2024, Monday), no refund will be made, otherwise, a refund of 50% of the entry fee paid by an applicant will be made. The Organiser shall have no other responsibilities and / or liabilities in relation to cancellation of the Event.
Force Majeure
Includes and is not limited to the Organiser being unable to perform its obligations or organise or hold the Event due to fire, flood, earthquake, or other severe natural disaster or act of God; or due to protest, riot, civil disobedience, uprising, march, revolt, assembly, demonstration, occupation, commotion, mass gathering, war, insurrection, sabotage, pandemic, epidemic, or terrorist or other attack or the likelihood of such event or act; or prohibition or withdrawal of approval, permit, licence or permission by the relevant authority or department of the Government of Hong Kong SAR. A reduction of the approved quota by the Government of Hong Kong SAR or an imposition of any contagious disease measures by the Government of Hong Kong SAR which are more stringent than those already approved by the Hong Kong SAR Government shall be deemed to be a Force Majeure.
21. Weather
The Event will be cancelled if tropical cyclone warning signal no.3 or above, or a red or black rainstorm signal is hoisted by the Hong Kong Observatory at 4:30 am or thereafter on the Race Day (i.e. 17 November 2024, Sunday). Please pay special attention to the weather forecast the night before the Event as it will indicate whether tropical cyclone warning signals, red or black rainstorm signals are likely to be hoisted in the forthcoming period. Please follow updates on the radio or TV announcements regarding the status of the Event from 4:30 am onwards on the Event Day.
Hong Kong International Airport is equipped with the Airport Lightning Warning System to safeguard the safety of personnel on the apron. An Amber Lightning Warning is issued when lightning is detected within a five-kilometre radius from the airport island and intense radar echo within 15 kilometres from the island, and all non-essential activities in open areas will be suspended. Meanwhile, a Red Lightning Warning is issued when lightning is detected within a one-kilometre domain surrounding the airport island. When the Red Lightning Warning is hoisted, all ramp activities will stop immediately. Participants should follow the instructions given by the race officials at the Event venue.
22. Languages
Terms and Conditions are in Chinese and English. In the case of discrepancies between the Chinese and English versions, the English version shall prevail. The Organiser reserves the right to interpret and amend the Terms and Conditions and the Official Rules and other rules and regulations as it sees fit from time to time.
