Security Arrangement

Hong Kong International Airport • Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon: Three-Runway System 10km International Race is set to take place on the Centre Runway of Hong Kong International Airport. As the race area is located within the Airport Restricted Area (ARA), all participants entering the race area must possess a valid Special Visitor Pass (the Pass) and comply with the following regulations:

Registration

  1. Participants must provide personal information consistent with their identification document (HKID Card / Travel Document) during registration. Relevant personal information will be transferred to Aviation Security Company Limited and Airport Authority for the use of application of the Pass and security checking.
  2. Participants of the 10km, 5km and 10km Wheelchair Race must be aged 16 or above as of 2024 (Count by Year of Birth) with identification document (with photo) at the time of the registration.
  3. Participants of the 3km races must be aged 12 or above with identification document (with photo) at the time of the registration.
  4. In the event that a participant’s application for a Special Visitor Pass is rejected, he/she will receive a notification via email and will be requested to review and verify their personal particulars. If the application is ultimately rejected, a refund of the entry fee will be arranged, with an administration charge of HKD 100 deducted.
Runner’s Pack Collection
  1. Participants are required to present the Runner’s Pack Collection Email with the original registered identification document with photo (i.e. HKID Card / Travel Document) on the designated dates and location to collect the Runner’s Pack in person. Collection of runner’s pack on behalf of the others will NOT be accepted.
  2. Number bib is equivalent to the Special Visitor Pass issued to an eligible person as a participant of the Three-Runway System 10km International Race. Please refer to “Conditions of Issues of Special Visitor Pass for Three-Runway System 10km International Run”.
Event Day
  1. Participants must bring any of the following items to the Assembly Venue – AsiaWorld-Expo, and present them to the Official, for verification of identification.
    Original HKID card / Travel Document used for registration
    Number Bib (with timing chip)
  2. If any discrepancies are found between the identification documents and the personal particulars printed on the number bib, or the participants present the identification documents or number bibs belong to others on the race day, the concerned participants will not be allowed to enter any part of the race venue and thus not be allowed to participate in the race. The Official will verify whether the information on the participant’s identification document is consistent with the information on the number bib on the day of event.
  3. After the verification, an event wristband will be put on the wrist of the participant. Only participants with valid wristband and event number bib will be allowed to enter the bus boarding area.
  4. Participants must arrive at the designated assembly point within the designated time period of each group. Latecomers will not be able to participate in the race and will be disqualified, and no entry fee will be refunded.
  5. Participants must join the race according to the designed race category and start time. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to participate in the race and relevant results will be disqualified, and no result certificate and finisher medal will be awarded.
  6. Entries, number bibs and timing chips are non-transferable. Upon discovery of such irregularities, participants concerned will be disqualified. The Organiser reserves the right to forbid and prohibit such person from participating in future races and events organised by the Organiser.
  7. Participants must wear their event wristband and number bib until completion of the race and returning to the Assembly Venue. Any participant who is found removing his / her Event Wristband and number bib without valid reasons or not under the directions of the officials, the Organiser will disqualify his / her entry or relevant results.
  8. Instructions given by the Organiser and race officials must be followed with respect to all matters not provided herein. The Organiser reserves the right to reject the concerned participants to participate in the competition.
